Vettel fastest in first Spain practice

Australian Daniel Ricciardo has finished fifth in the first practice session of the Spanish Grand Prix.

Four-time world Formula One champion Sebastian Vettel was the fastest in the first free practice session of the Spanish Grand Prix, the fifth stage of the Formula One World Championship.

In his best lap in the 4.655km-long Barcelona circuit on Friday, Ferrari's Vettel finished with a time of 1 minute 23.951 seconds, followed closely by teammate Kimi Raikkonen.

Championship leader German Nico Rosberg (Mercedes) came in third, followed by his U.K. teammate Lewis Hamilton who was fourth.

Australian Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull) was fifth fastest.
