Vettori to coach BBL Heat

New Zealand's Daniel Vettori has been named coach of BBL side Brisbane Heat.

Daniel Vettori has signed a three-year deal to coach the Big Bash League's Brisbane Heat.

A foundation player with the Twenty20 side, the 36-year-old Vettori will become the first stand-alone coach of the Heat since the inception of the BBL in 2011.

Vettori, who also coaches Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League, will take up his role with the Heat after the IPL, which gets underway next week.

"It is a big job but one that I am excited about tackling," said New Zealand's Vettori in a Heat statement.

"I found my initial experience as the coach of Bangalore in the IPL to be very rewarding last year and so I am grateful to them for allowing me this additional opportunity to develop my coaching skills and background."

Vettori announced his retirement from all forms of cricket this week.
