Senior Hells Angels bikie Peter "Skitzo" Hewat has been denied bail as he faces charges of aggravated burglary and possessing stolen goods.
Hewat, 58, who is facing assault charges over a dispute about a dog, was charged with possessing stolen goods last month after raids at his Mickleham home and Craigieburn towing business.
Victorian Supreme Court Justice John Dixon said Hewat posed an unacceptable risk of reoffending and interfering with witnesses.
Prosecutor Peter Rose, SC, told the bail hearing that Hewat had continued to offend despite being charged with assault.
"He seems to show no regard for the fact that he is on bail," he told the court on Tuesday.
Hewat's barrister Shane Tyrrell said police knew that the allegedly stolen items were at his home and business in March but no charges were filed at the time.
"It seems to be a concerted effort to keep this man behind bars," he said.
Mr Tyrrell said Hewat was being targeted because of his bikie associations, as some of the items may have belonged to Hewat's son.
"The fact that he is a member of the Hells Angels motorcycle club is the reason that he has been charged," Mr Tyrrell said.
Hewat is accused of theft of a motor vehicle, weapons possession and possessing the proceeds of crime, including $47,000 in cash.
He is also accused of making threats against Echo Taskforce Detective Senior Constable Gary Measham, after allegedly saying,"I believe families are now on the line" during the Craigieburn raid.
Mr Tyrrell said Hewat was referring to his own family.
Justice Dixon said he did not accept that Hewat's son still lived at the Mickleham home and said his words to Det Sen Const Measham could be interpreted as a threat.
