One of nine men arrested in raids on the Comanchero and Hells Angels bikie gangs has been charged with making explosives and possessing guns.

Police charged eight men in raids across Melbourne on Tuesday night, when guns, explosives, drugs and cash were seized. Another man was arrested on Wednesday.

The arrests follow three shootings in 24 hours at buildings linked to both gangs.

Hells Angels associate Dennis Basic, 33, of Frankston, appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with making explosives and illegally possessing seven guns in Frankston on Tuesday.

Basic's charges were adjourned until December 20.

Deputy Chief Magistrate Jelena Popovic was told the associates of the two gangs would require separate dates for their committal mention hearings.

Additional police and security officers were present in the courtroom and outside the building on Wednesday.

Comanchero associates Gemino Aloia, 26, of Glenroy, Bemir Saracevic, 26, of Cranbourne North, Emir Jaha, 27, of Mt Martha, and Mark Balsillie, 29, of Gladstone, Park also faced the court on Wednesday.

Saracevic, Aloia and Balsillie are charged with extortion offences, while Jaha is facing assault allegations.

None of the four applied for bail and were remanded in custody to appear on December 19.

Hells Angels associate Mohammed Khodr, 26, of Balwyn North, was bailed on summary charges of possessing steroids and will return to court on October 15.

Bashkim Gashi, 30, of Dandenong North, and Neke Wirhana, 21, of Mornington, were also charged after the raids and faced court on Wednesday.

A 22-year-old Carrum Downs man was arrested on Wednesday and has been interviewed by police.

The Hells Angels Seaford clubhouse in the city's south was sprayed with bullets on Monday night, in retaliation for a shootout at two businesses owned by a Comanchero member earlier that day.

High-powered military weapons such as AK-47s or M1 carbines were used in first two shootings, police say.
