Vic boy, 7, bites stranger to escape

A Melbourne boy bit a stranger who pushed him off a playground swing.

A boy has escaped an encounter with a stranger in Melbourne's west by biting the man on the hand and running away.

Police say the seven-year-old was on a playground swing set in Hoppers Crossing about 3pm on Thursday when a man approached from behind and started pushing him on the swings.

The man then pushed the boy to the ground, a scuffle ensued and the boy bit the man, police say.

The seven-year-old ran home and reported the incident to his parents.

Police have called for witnesses of the incident, which occurred in Maple Crescent.

The man is described as being tall and thin with light ginger or blond hair.
