Police are searching for a man wanted for questioning over the theft of $700,000 from a Victorian business.

A man with more than 25 aliases is wanted for questioning over the theft of $700,000 from a Victorian business.

The man, named by Victoria Police as Robert Kamp, allegedly defrauded his employer over a four-year period between 2009 and 2013.

He hasn't been heard of since he was confronted by his employer last July.

The 43-year-old may have fled interstate or overseas and could be using one of 25 known aliases, police said on Tuesday.

He was known to go by the name Robert Macdonald in Victoria.
