Vic council behaviour, donations crackdown

Victoria's 79 councils will face tougher standards of behaviour and political donations if the state government gets its way.

Tougher donation rules and behavioural standards will be imposed on Victoria's local governments under proposed reforms.

The six changes, which on Monday were circulated for public feedback, also include simplifying enrolments for council elections.

Victoria has 79 councils, which were subject to reforms by the Andrews Labor government in its previous term.
