Victorian doctors say the new Border Force Act forces them to compromise their ethical obligations to patients.

More than 100 doctors have gathered in Melbourne to speak out against the new restrictions on doctors who treat asylum seekers.

"This legislation forces doctors to compromise their ethical obligation towards patients, under threat of criminal prosecution. Such a position has no place in a modern democracy," a statement released on Saturday says.
