Vic explosives expert killed on job site

A 60-year-old explosives expert has died after two blasts on a Melbourne construction site.

WorkSafe Victoria is investigating the death of an explosives expert at a construction site on the outskirts of Melbourne.

A 60-year-old Healesville man was killed when laying out explosives to clear heavy soil for drainage before noon on Monday.

Witnesses have told police they heard two explosions at the Medley Close, Harkaway construction site before the man became trapped inside a three-metre trench.
