Queensland Tourism Minister Kate Jones has accused the Victorian Government of having "sour grapes" as she flagged the Sunshine State will bid to host the Logies.
Television's 'night of nights' is on the hunt for a new host city after Melbourne announced it was ending its association with the awards show it has hosted for 30 years.
The Victorian Government played down the move, saying the annual show offers little value to the state's economy.
Ms Jones said the Gold Coast would likely be the centre of any Queensland bid.
"I mean, Victoria's got sour grapes today because they've lost the Logies and other states like NSW and Queensland are in the mix."

The Victorian government had been paying around $1 million a year to host the gig but Ms Jones wouldn't confirm a similar budget from Queensland.
"We will only contribute what drives good value for money for taxpayers," she said.
Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate wants in, saying the glitzy event would be a perfect fit as it was "a tacky industry coming to a tacky city".
"Our film and television industry is growing, becoming a very strong economy, and all those superstars on television, why wouldn't they want to come to the Gold Coast?" he asked.
Ms Jones didn't agree the Gold Coast was "tacky" but said she'd already met with Mr Tate to discuss a bid.
"I think coming to the Gold Coast could really refresh the Logies," she said.
She also urged TV presenter Karl Stefanovic, who is from Queensland, to back down on his call to boycott the Logies if they were held outside Melbourne, saying he should want to promote his home state.
