Vic Labor promises 120 new aged-care beds

Another 120 aged-care beds in Melbourne's outer east have been promised by Victorian Labor if the government is re-elected in November.

Another 120 aged-care beds have been promised for Melbourne's outer east plus a hospital expansion in a combined $170 million pledge by the Labor government.

The new aged-care facility at Wantirna Health will include 60 high-care beds and 60 aged-care mental health beds built by 2022 to go alongside the existing geriatric medicine hospital and palliative care services already offered at the site, Premier Daniel Andrews announced on Tuesday.

The promise also includes the continued expansion of the Angliss Hospital to be finished by 2025.
