Vic Labor staffer expelled from party

A former staffer to two senior Labor figures has been expelled from the party over branch stacking.

The Victorian ALP has expelled a former staffer to several Labor frontbenchers over branch-stacking.

Haykel Handal - a former staffer to Senator Stephen Conroy and Richard Marles - was forced out of the ALP after an internal investigation into membership irregularities, the ABC reported on Thursday.

Acting Victorian Labor state secretary Kosmos Samaras confirmed the expulsion, adding that the party had changed its payment method protocols to ensure anonymous debit cards were no longer accepted.
