A man has died after being found in a Footscray car park with serious injuries.

A man has been charged with murder after allegedly killing his uncle in a Melbourne car park.

The man, 21, was arrested after his injured 32-year-old uncle was found in a Footscray car park early on Wednesday morning.

Paramedics worked to save the man but he died in hospital.

Police had been called to the car park over an unrelated theft before they discovered the man.

The nephew, from Braybrook, was charged with one count of murder and was due to face the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
