Vic man dies in hospital after assault

A Victorian man seriously injured after being assaulted last week has died.

A Victorian man has died in hospital a week after being assaulted.

The 41-year-old from Traralgon was attacked at a home in the small Victorian town of Tyers about 11pm on April 3.

He was taken to The Alfred Hospital with life-threatening injuries, but died the following Friday night.

An 18-year-old man, also from Traralgon, has been charged with intentionally causing serious injury.

He will now be interviewed by homicide detectives.
