Vic man killed while his wife showered

A Melbourne man has been fatally stabbed at home while his wife was in the shower.

A man has been stabbed to death at his home while his wife was in the shower.

The woman found her 62-year-old husband fatally wounded outside their Bundoora home in Melbourne on Friday morning.

Detective Inspector Michael Hughes told reporters the attack happened while the woman was in the shower.

"She heard some loud voices and when she came outside she found her husband had been stabbed," he said.

A 37-year-old Bundoora man was arrested at a nearby hotel and is being questioned.

Det Insp Hughes said the victim and the man were known to each other, but he would not say whether they were related.

"We can reassure the public there is a very direct connection," he said.
