A Victorian police officer will face court charged with perverting the course of justice and misconduct.

A Victorian police officer has been suspended without pay after he was charged with perverting the course of justice.

The leading senior constable from the Legal Services Department also faces misconduct charges. It is believed the offences took place while he was on duty.

He has been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 17 June.
