Vic police raid Coffin Cheaters bikies

One person is in custody after raids on homes across Melbourne and the clubhouse of the Coffin Cheaters outlaw motorcycle gang.

Drugs, weapons and cash have been seized during pre-dawn raids on a Melbourne outlaw motorcycle gang clubhouse.

The Coffin Cheaters Braeside headquarters was targeted during ongoing investigations into alleged drug trafficking and liquor offences, police say.

A 58-year-old Windsor man is in custody after searches were also carried out on homes in Windsor, Aspendale and Parkdale.

It's believed an illegal bar may have been operating at the clubhouse.

A large amount of liquor was also seized during the raids.

"Our investigation had identified a factory in Braeside which includes a purpose built bar," Inspector John McCormack said.

"We believe the bar is a place of assembly for the Coffin Cheaters and their associates."

The Coffin Cheaters are known to associate with the Hells Angels outlaw motorcycle gang.

In signs on the clubhouse, the Melbourne gang describe themselves as the "sinners chapter" and on a billboard outside advertise the slogan "it's time you do a bad, bad thing".
