A motorcyclist is missing after his bike struck a wombat and crashed on the Hume Freeway in central Victoria.
The extensively damaged motorbike was found at the end of a 100-metre long crash scene at Longwood early on Sunday morning, but a search has failed to find the rider.
"Police believe the rider would have suffered serious injuries in the crash and are appealing for him, or anyone who may have picked him up, to contact police," Victoria Police said.
