The Syrians for Freedom have gathered on the steps of the State Library of Victoria to call for an end to the war in Syria.

Around 150 protestors took part in a rally in Central Melbourne

About 150 people have rallied in central Melbourne calling for an end to the Syrian war.

Organised by a group called Syrians for Freedom, they gathered on the steps of the State Library on Sunday.

They held high the Syrian and Australian flags and placards reading "Free Syria" and "No to Assad, No to Putin, No to Killers in Syria".
