Vic train driver charged over teen death

A Melbourne train driver has appeared in court charged over the death of a teenager at a railway station.

Glen Iris man Mitchell Callaghan, 18, died on February 22 last year at Heyington station in Toorak.

Train driver Russell Dickson, 40, was charged with one count each of conduct endangering life and conduct endangering a person.

Documents filed in the Melbourne Magistrates Court show Dickson is charged with moving the train "knowing the doors were being held open".

The matter has been adjourned to June 11 after Dickson appeared briefly before the court on Wednesday.
