A Melbourne driver will be charged after she recorded a blood alcohol level of 0.222, more than four times over the legal limit.

A woman has blown more than four times the legal blood alcohol limit after she was pulled over in Melbourne.

Police stopped the 52-year-old Bentleigh woman in Brighton on Sunday night, where she returned a positive result in a roadside breath test.

Shortly after at Brighton police station, she recorded a blood alcohol level of 0.222.

She will be charged on summons with drink driving.
