Victorian man charged with baby's murder

A man accused of murdering a baby in rural Victoria has been remanded into custody.

A rural Victorian man is in custody over the alleged murder of a three-month-old baby.

Heathcote man Joby Anthony Rowe, 23, appeared in Bendigo Magistrates Court via video link on Tuesday charged with the murder of a three-month-old girl.

The baby girl died on August 30, a day after she became critically ill while at home with her parents in Heathcote and was airlifted to hospital.

Rowe was charged with her murder on Monday and faced an out-of-sessions hearing before reappearing in court on Tuesday.

He has been remanded in custody to appear in court on January 20.
