After a victory he rates among his finest as an AFL coach, Richmond's Damien Hardwick is demanding his players keep riding waves of momentum.

Hardwick says he's immensely proud of Richmond's 10-point away triumph against the Adelaide Crows on Saturday night which lifts the Tigers to the cusp of finals.

"It's right up there," Hardwick said after Richmond kicked the last two goals for a thrilling 10.19 (79) to 9.15 (69) win at Adelaide Oval.

The Tigers have won seven games in a row - for the first time since 1995.

And they sit ninth on the ladder with matches against St Kilda and Sydney remaining.

"We have beaten all those sides around us fighting for the same spots," Hardwick said.

"We have just got to make sure we continue - head down, bum up - and hopefully get the results."

Regardless of whether Richmond's late charge resulted in a finals berth, Hardwick was thrilled at the fightback of his players from midseason.

"The guys have got that belief back, there's no doubt about that, with the way we play," he said.

"Overall, everyone is contributing to the way we want them to play."

"I'm incredibly proud of our footy club, the way they have battled against the odds to get us back in a position to play (finals) which is really important.

"Our supporters have hung tough.

"And we just have to hope we continue to win games to get this reward because we're playing some pretty good footy, beaten some really good sides."
