The Vietnamese Prime Minister has arrived in Australia - touching down in Sydney on Monday night.
Nguyen Tan Dung will receive a ceremonial welcome on Wednesday in Canberra.
He'll meet Prime Minister Tony Abbott to sign agreements on a working holidaymaker scheme and combating human trafficking. They're also likely to sign deals on peacekeeping and war legacy issues.
But the visit isn't free of controversy - leaders from the Vietnamese Community Association told SBS Vietnamese Radio Mr Dung is not welcome in Australia.
It's planning demonstrations in Sydney and Canberra.
Vietnamese Ambassador Lương Thanh Nghị told SBS Vietnamese Radio this is a good time for the two PMs to discuss strengthening co-operation between the two countries on regional security issues such as territorial disputes in South China Sea, people smuggling, as well as natural disasters.
When asked whether Mr Dung will meet with Vietnamese locals, Ambassador Lương confirmed the PM is going to meet with some students and locals but it’s not an open meeting.
"Maybe next time," he said.
Mr Dung will also visit Sydney before travelling to New Zealand. He first visited Australia in 2008.
