Violence stalls aid deliveries in Central African Republic

The World Food Program says ongoing violence in the Central African Republic is preventing trucks carrying food aid from reaching internally displaced people.

The World Food Program says ongoing violence in the Central African Republic is preventing trucks carrying food aid from reaching internally displaced people.

The WFP's Alexis Masciarelli says trucks are regularly blocked at the border with Cameroon impacting upon food supplies to the capital, Bangui and other areas.

He told Zara Zaher, a mission to escort the truck drivers through the border by soldiers from the African peacekeeping force is being considered.
