Visa changes under northern Aust plan

The federal government will relax visa requirements as part of its strategic plan for northern Australia.

Overseas working holiday makers will be have their visas extended for one year if they are employed in northern Australia.

Parts of the north will also continue to be designated areas for skilled overseas workers under a new 20-year plan unveiled by the federal government on Thursday.

The three-year multiple entry visa will be extended to 10 years in a bid to promote more tourists, especially from China.
