Vodafone offers prepaid mix and match

Vodafone has launched a new prepaid offering that lets customers build their own plans to suit their needs for data, text and talk.

Vodafone is allowing customers to customise prepaid plans as it hunts for a larger chunk of the $3.8 billion prepaid market.

The telco has introduced a range of options aimed at meeting differing customer preferences and needs.

"We've set out to address one of the biggest pain points facing telco customers in Australia today, which is wasting good money on inclusions they don't use," Vodafone chief marketing officer Loo Fun Chee said.

Ms Chee said.

Combinations of choices such as a plan lasting seven days or 90, chunks of data or a small serving and unlimited international calls or none at all are available in the company's new MyMix plans.

The telco is hoping that the vastly different phone habits across age groups will all be served by the plans.

Youth use five times more data than older Australians and young professionals chat on international calls three times longer than mums and dads, Vodafone said.

With a possible 72 variations Vodafone hopes that each individual customer will be able to tailor a plan that fits their needs exactly from month to month.
