Volleyroos turn the tables on Slovakia

Australia's men's volleyball team have swept Slovakia in the World League, just a week after falling 3-1 to the same opposition.

Australia's men have posted a second consecutive 3-0 World League win after beating Slovakia in Finland.

Playing on Friday without captain Paul Carroll, the Volleyroos turned things around against a team who had beaten them 3-1 a week earlier.

London Olympian Travis Passier top-scored with 12 in an impressive all-round performance.

"We had a really good start today and were able to put pressure on them from the beginning," coach Mark Lebedew said.

"We served well enough to keep them off the net, and then our block and defence was able to work well.

"On the other side, we were very efficient in our side-out, especially the middle of the net, first tempo and pipe. And despite some changes in the starting line-up from yesterday, the team again showed great cohesion throughout."

The Volleyroos face the unbeaten host nation on Sunday before heading to China, who they beat 3-0 on Thursday, for three more matches.
