Brisbane captain Jed Adcock believes former coach Michael Voss still has a role to play in the development of the Lions' youngsters.
Voss returned to the AFL club last week for the first time since his sacking last August, accepting an induction to legend status into the Lions' Hall of Fame.
Adcock said he was glad to see Voss back among the Lions fold and hoped his teammates paid attention to what the Brownlow Medallist and triple premiership-winning captain had to say about his time with the club.
The parallels between Voss' early days at the club and the Lions' current precarious situation couldn't be overlooked in Adcock's opinion.
"Hopefully every young player listened to not only Vossy, but every other guy that was up there as well," Adcock said.
"What they had to say about what it was like for them when they first got to the club, the Bad News Bears, and a lot of them got to the club and played in three wooden spoons in four years.
"Hopefully they can see staying the course and sticking in there and seeing it to the end, the opportunities you've got."
Whether Voss' lessons play a role, Adcock said the bottom-of-the-ladder Lions have still made progress this year despite going into this weekend's match with Carlton with just one win to their name.
He said last week's bye has been the perfect opportunity for the club to reset for the rest of the season.
"We did have a tough draw at the start, injuries hurt us early, and we probably weren't playing great footy," he said.
"A lot of the older blokes were out of form.
"Hopefully now things will settle down a bit."
