Voters say jobs have become less secure

A new poll by the Australian Council of Trade Unions shows concerns about job security and wages are high in marginal seats.

ACTU POLL RESULTS ON WHAT MARGINAL SEAT VOTERS THINK ABOUT WAGES:

* 53.9 per cent say jobs are less secure than they were in the past,

* 51.7 per cent said the government is not doing enough to deal with insecure work,

* 49 per cent did not receive a pay rise in the past year,

* 28.8 per cent said any pay rises they did receive were not keeping up with the cost of living,

* 45.5 per cent say the government is not doing enough to ensure that all workers receive their legal entitlements from employers such as their correct pay and super.
