Indian cricket authorities say the West Indies team will quit the current tour after the fourth one-day international on Friday because of a pay dispute at home with its cricket board and players' union.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India made the announcement in a statement on Friday and said it was shocked.
The visitors, only halfway through the tour, will not compete in the fifth ODI scheduled for Monday, a one-off Twenty20 nor the three Tests.
The BCCI says it made several appeals to the West Indies Cricket Board to honour its commitment and will "pursue the ICC to ensure that its interests and those of the game at large will not suffer any damage due to such acts of indiscretion."
