WA adult diagnosed with meningococcal

A young adult is recovering in hospital after being diagnosed with meningococcal disease, the fifth case in WA this year.

A young adult is recovering in a West Australian hospital after being diagnosed with the life-threatening and infectious meningococcal disease.

The Department of Health has identified the person's close contacts and provided some with antibiotics to minimise the chance the illness is passed on to others.

It is the fifth case of meningococcal in WA this year.
