WA cop charged with teen's assault

A police officer from regional WA has been charged following an internal investigation into an alleged assault.

A West Australian policeman has been charged with assaulting a 16-year-old juvenile during an arrest.

The sergeant from regional WA was charged after an internal investigation into the October 31 incident and has been stood down from duty.

He has been charged by summons with one count of common assault and will appear in court on February 10.
