West Australian growers have delivered the biggest grain harvest in the history of the state.
The CBH Group, the grain growers' cooperative that handles, markets and processes grain from WA's wheatbelt, said the yield surpassed the previous record of 15.06 million tonnes, achieved in 2011/12.
More than 50 sites broke their daily records and the CBH network also received a record number of tonnes in one day - with more than 500,000 tonnes flowing in on November 27.
WA agriculture minister Ken Baston acknowledged an outstanding year for the state's growers.
"Having come through some very average and low yield years it's encouraging to not only experience a good year but to see records fall," Mr Baston said.
"This is obviously good for the farmers, their families and their rural communities, and provides valuable export income to the Western Australian economy."
The record harvest will continue, with several growers - mostly in Albany and Kwinana - still to deliver grain.
