WA man charged with child sex abuse

A man has been charged with a string of child sex offences against two girls in Western Australia.

A 58-year-old man has been charged with 14 child sex offences against two Perth girls.

Police allege the man sexually assaulted a four-year-old girl in 1996 and an 11-year-old girl between 1998 and 2001.

He has been charged with five counts of sexual penetration of a child under 13 years, three counts of indecent dealing with a child under 13 years, four counts of sexual penetration of a child between 13 and 16.

He also faces one count each of indecent dealing with a child between 13 and 16, and persistent sexual conduct with a child under 16 years.

The Byford man is due to appear in Armadale Magistrates Court on March 4.
