WA man dies after suspected drug lab blast

A 33-year-old man who was set on fire in a suspected drug lab blast at a house in Perth's southeastern suburbs has died in hospital.

A man who was burnt in a suspected clandestine drug lab explosion at a house in Perth's southeastern suburbs has died in hospital.

The Excalibur Circle house burst into flames after the explosion early on Monday.

The occupants, a 33-year-old man and his 49-year-old wife, were set on fire and ran from the property to a vacant block next door where they were hosed down by neighbours before being rushed to the burns unit at Royal Perth Hospital.

On Friday, authorities confirmed the man had died from his injuries.

His wife remains in a serious but stable condition.

The couple were allegedly involved in a similar explosion at a separate property in the same suburb less than a year ago.
