WA man suffers heart attack on yacht

A man suffering a suspected heart attack on a yacht, has to wait until WA emergency crews tow the vessel to Rottnest Island before they can treat him.

WA emergency personnel have had to tow a yacht to shore before they could attend to a man who'd suffered a suspected heart attack on board.

Water Police were alerted to the man's condition on a 47-foot yacht, 30 kilometres off shore and north of Rottnest Island, not long after 9.40pm on Tuesday.

Police and Fremantle Marine Rescue responded with the SJA Rescue 65 helicopter.

Due to conditions, the yacht was towed to Rottnest Island where medical staff assessed the man before the Royal Flying Doctor Service took him to hospital.
