WA paceman Paris extends sideline stint

Western Australian fast bowler Joel Paris has been ruled out until at least this summer's Big Bash League competition with a quad injury.

Joel Paris' long injury lay-off has been extended by two months, with the left-arm paceman suffering another leg injury training with Western Australia.

Paris, who played two one-day internationals for Australia last summer, is not expected to be available until the start of Perth Scorchers' Big Bash League campaign in December after damaging a tendon in his left quadricep.

The injury is the opposite leg to the quad issue that saw him miss a chunk of the 2014-15 summer.

Paris has not played since last summer after he was ruled out of the IPL with a shin injury.

Last month, WA announced his expected return for the one-day domestic campaign, but he will miss the entire competition having not featured in any of the Warriors' first three games.

Paris made his ODI debut for Australia last summer, taking one wicket in two matches against India.
