WA police car rammed by stolen vehicle

Two WA policemen are in hospital after the second serious attack on officers in as many days in which patrol cars were rammed by offenders.

Two policemen have been injured after their patrol car was repeatedly rammed by fleeing offenders in West Australia's Pilbara region.

The officers were trying to stop the two offenders who had assaulted a man and a woman in their Karratha home from leaving the scene in a stolen Toyota Landcruiser about 2.45am on Friday.

Police blocked the road with their car but instead of stopping the driver of the Landcruiser accelerated heavily and rammed the patrol vehicle.

The driver then reversed the Landcruiser and rammed the police car again, pushing it about three metres across the road, before driving away.

Both officers were taken to hospital for separate leg, neck and back injuries.

The occupants of the house were also taken to hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, a 28-year-old man who allegedly attacked a police officer on Wednesday with pepper spray and crashed a ute into a patrol car faces multiple charges.

The man is scheduled to appear in the Armadale Magistrates Court on Friday charged with several offences including breach of bail, assault with intent to prevent arrest and reckless driving.
