WA police charge Christian Brother

A 77-year-old Broome man has been charged with historic child sex crimes that allegedly occurred while he was a Christian Brother in the 1970s.

West Australian police have charged a 77-year-old Broome man with two historic child sex offences at a Christian Brothers school.

It is alleged that between 1970 and 1971, when he was a Brother at the Christian Brothers Agricultural School near Tardun in WA's Mid-West region, the man indecently assaulted a boy, who was aged seven to eight, during social events held at the school.

The man has been charged with two counts of dealing with a boy under 14 years.

He is scheduled to appear in the Broome Magistrates Court on July 28.
