WA serial pedophile denies further claims

Dennis McKenna, who is already behind bars for historic child sex offences, has pleaded not guilty to two further charges.

Serial pedophile Dennis McKenna has pleaded not guilty to two more child sex offences allegedly committed when he was a warden at a regional West Australian hostel.

McKenna appeared briefly in Perth Magistrates Court via video link from Acacia Prison on Wednesday, with his lawyer saying he denied the accusations.

McKenna was charged with indecently dealing with a child under 14 years and with having committed indecent practices between males in public. The offences allegedly occurred between 1975 and 1988.

He has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to reappear in court for a committal mention on December 4.

Outside court, his lawyer said McKenna would seek a trial before a judge alone.
