WA, Victorian Powerball players split $50m

A WA Powerball player who is yet to come forward to Lotterywest and two Victorian ticket-holders have split the $50 million jackpot.

A West Australian Lotto player has split the $50 million Powerball jackpot three ways with two ticket-holders from Victoria.

Each takes home a $16.66 million division one prize.

The winning ticket in WA was sold at Padbury News and Post and is the highest Lotto prize to be won in the state this year, topping a $15 million prize won in April.

Lotterywest said on Friday it was looking forward to meeting WA's newest Powerball multi-millionaire.

One of the Victorian winners, a man who purchased his ticket online, has chosen to remain anonymous and says he plans to share his fortune with his family.

"I'm still in disbelief - I don't need that amount of money," he said.

The other winning Victorian ticket belongs to a Rowville couple, who have also chosen to remain anonymous.

The wife said she ran into their bedroom where her husband was asleep, waving the Powerball ticket in his face to wake him up after she realised they'd won.

"He thought it was literally a dream," she said.

"He still couldn't believe it when he woke up this morning."
