Wallabies in Cardiff ahead of Fiji clash

After six days hidden away from the World Cup buzz, the Wallabies have finally entered the tournament and stadium where Australia last held the prized Webb Ellis Cup 16 years ago.

Australia have managed to keep their low-key Rugby World Cup build-up going right through the first weekend of the tournament.

Seven Wallabies will make their World Cup debut, as the Australians start their World Cup campaign against Fiji at Millennium Stadium on Thursday (1.45am AEST).

Wallabies Assistant Coach, Stephen Larkham, describes Fiji as 'very physical'.

"I think their scrum was a bit of a surprise for a few people. They've got very dangerous backs," he said.

The Wallabies have won both previous World Cups played on British soil, and are the favourites to a win over the Pacific Islanders.

But Wallabies Captain, Michael Hopper says clinching an historic third World Cup title won't be easy.

"I think nerves just shows you care and like all of us we just want to get out on the paddock," he said.

Wallabies centre, Tevita Kuridrani is pumped for the big match.

"For us to be here playing against each other the big stage - the world stage, [I'm] excited and I can't wait."
