New Wallabies enforcer Lukhan Tui has a simple answer to how he plans to counter the Irish in what looms as a baptism of fire in the series-deciding third Test.
After six appearances off the bench, Tui will finally make his starting debut against the touring European champions on Saturday night in Sydney.
"You've got to hit it harder. If there's two of them, you've just got to go harder," the versatile 21-year-old said after being named as blindside flanker in a revamped but formidable back row alongside David Pocock and captain Michael Hooper.
"You either get done or they get done. There's always someone inside and outside you (for support) - trust the system."
The near-two-metre tall Tui, who adds a new dimension to Australia's lineout as well as serving as a dynamic loose forward, says being handed the chance to start for his country is "something special".
"It's a blessing to even be in the team," said Tui, insisting what position he played was merely "just a number on the back of my jumper".
"A few weeks ago, I was playing second grade. I'm lucky to be in this position.
"All the back-rowers have been playing well and the forwards deserve a spot in the starting team. I'm lucky enough for this week to be my turn. Hopefully, I can make the most of my opportunity."
He's not the least bit nervous.
"I feel all good. It's just another game; the only difference is the series is on the line," Tui said.
"It is a big game for me. I'm feeling good, I'm feeling sweet ... looking forward to getting out there on Saturday and ripping in."
