Penrith supremo Phil Gould has dismissed speculation that star halfback Peter Wallace will leave the Panthers before the 2016 kick-off to play in the English Super League.
News Corp Australia reported on Monday that Wallace was set to sensationally walk away from Penrith and head overseas.
"PANTHER FANS Media report suggesting Peter Wallace leaving for UK prior to commencement of 2016 season are totally incorrect & without basis," Gould tweeted.
Gould followed up with a "Correct" when asked directly on Twitter if Wallace would definitely be a Panther in 2016.
Speculation about Wallace's future at the foot of the mountains has persisted ever since former Brisbane coach Anthony Griffin was appointed in October to take over from Ivan Cleary.
Griffin controversially dropped Wallace from his Broncos line-up in 2013, with the former NSW State of Origin half admitting this year the decision disappointed him.
But Wallace, 30, insisted after the new coach joined the Panthers that he had no problem with Griffin.
