Western Sydney goalkeeper Ante Covic has hit out at critics who've labelled the Wanderers' back-to-back defeats a form slump and says they'll be out to prove them wrong this weekend.
The reigning premiers will host Perth Glory on Sunday having lost three out of their last four games and looking to rebound from their away losses to Melbourne Victory and Adelaide.
It's the first time the Wanderers have suffered consecutive defeats this season and with the side still second on the ladder Covic says no-one at the club feels it's cause for panic.
"People outside the team seem to come up with that," he said
"We've been a successful team up until now and that seems to be the buzz word `form slump' after two games.
"A form slump is 19 games without winning," he said referencing Melbourne Heart's record-equalling winless streak.
"So for us there's no question, it's not a form slump it's just about getting switched back on and getting back on track on Sunday.
"We're still in a decent position on the table and still have a lot of games to make amends for it.
"So heads aren't down."
It will be the first time the two sides have met this season with the Glory yet to beat the Wanderers.
But Perth seem to be growing in confidence under new boss Kenny Lowe holding top dogs Brisbane to a 0-0 draw last week.
Attack, however, has not been Perth's strong point with the sixth-placed side attempting the least shots on goal in the competition so far this campaign.
But Covic says that won't make his job any easier.
"No it won't," he said.
"It depends on the attitude you take into the game. You can make it easy for them and they start banging in shots left, right and centre.
"Stats are one thing, but when it comes to a game every team is tough if you don't give them the respect they deserve and limit their chances.
"We are defensively quite sound, so whatever Perth bring to the game we'll be ready for it."
Wanderers coach Tony Popovic is set to get key midfielder Mateo Poljak and defender Jerome Polenz back from injury this week but Iacopo La Rocca remains sidelined.
