Waratahs hooker Ulugia signs for Clermont

Former Waratahs hooker John Ulugia is set to sign a two-year contract with French Top 14 side Clermont from next season.

Australian hooker John Ulugia will join French Top 14 side Clermont next season, the club announced on Monday.

Ulugia, 27, who is currently with French second division club Bourg-en-Bresse, will sign a two-year contract.

Capped three times by the Wallabies, Ulugia moved to France in September from Super Rugby side the Waratahs, having previously played for the Brumbies.

At Clermont, Ulugia will be in competition for a starting place with French international Benjamin Kayser, Samoan Ti'i Paulo and Benoit Cabello.

Ulugia is Clermont's fourth signing for next season, following the capture of Sebastien Vahaamahina, Jonathan Davies and Fritz Lee.
