Shane Watson has become the victim of another Warner Twitter tirade, but this time it's from the account of David's older brother.
A tweet from Steven Warner's @warnedog79 account on Friday lashed Watson for reviewing an lbw decision against him that kick started Australia's terrible first innings in the second Ashes Test at Lord's.
It read: "F***ing selfish Watson sooner your out if the side you great pretender the better."
The account was deleted on the weekend, but Steve Warner told Fairfax Media he was not responsible for the tweet and that he "wouldn't have a clue" who was.
In addition to criticising Watson, the account also praised sacked coach Mickey Arthur who has started legal proceedings against Cricket Australia (CA).
"Good on Mickey Arthur finally letting the truth be known and proving he was just an escape goat #awesomebloke #Gentlemen."
Another comment published by @warnedog79 in the midst of Australia's first-innings carnage called on national selectors to reinstate David Warner, calling him a batsman "who will have a go".
Warner has been on the outer since punching Joe Root in a Birmingham nightclub, an indiscretion that earned him a three-match ban by CA.
Devoid of match practise when the Ashes started, he was sent to South Africa to play with Australia A but managed just six and 11 against a Zimbabwe Select XI in Harare.
Warner was fined $5750 by CA in May for his expletive-laden attack on two News Ltd journalists.
Steve Warner was a NSW under-17 representative, touring England in 1996, but walked away from cricket. He is a plumber by trade now working as a baggage handler with Virgin Australia.
