Warning of decline in property prices

Australians are being warned house prices may eventually decline in most capital cities.

Australians are being warned house prices may eventually decline in most capital cities - as the current construction boom adds much needed supply.

But house prices across the country - enjoyed double digit growth last financial year.

It comes as the Reserve Bank kept official interest rates at record lows today - meaning borrowers have the chance to step up their mortgage repayments - while savers may need to look away from bank deposits - to make their money work harder.
