Warning to welfare system gamers: minister

Social Services Minister Scott Morrison has warned that the federal government intends to crack down on Australians who game the welfare system.

Mr Morrison was responding to a report that taxpayers forked out $190 billion last year for 240 million welfare payments.

The government had a responsibility to shut out those trying to game the system, he told Radio 2GB on Monday.
